The Sustainable Resources Processing Laboratory (SRPLab) specializes in the development of advanced technologies for the separation and recovery of valuable resources from both primary (natural) and secondary (waste) sources, grounded in the principles of mineral processing and extractive metallurgy. Given the growing global attention to the security and sustainability of mineral and metal supply chains, the strategic importance of critical metals has become increasingly prominent across key industries. In response to these developments, our research focuses on the efficient and sustainable recovery of critical minerals—such as nickel, cobalt, manganese, graphite, and rare earth elements—which are essential to the battery, semiconductor, and renewable energy sectors. At SRPLab, we are driven by the firm belief that the technologies we develop serve as foundational components in the upstream segment of industrial value chains, contributing meaningfully to resource sustainability and circular economy initiatives.
